Sacred/Tapestry! Spiritual Center is the sacred vision given to Rev. Dr. Ouida Joi Cooper-Rodriguez, a Spiritual Explorer, Ordained Interfaith and New Thought Minister, spiritual teacher, community builder, Shamanic Practitioner, and creative artist whose spiritual journey has crossed traditions, communities, and disciplines.
For over two decades, Rev. Ouida Joi, or Rev. O as she is called, has served in spiritual leadership through ministry, teaching, facilitation, prayer, contemplative practice, and the creation of sacred community.
Her journey has included leadership and service within New Thought and Interfaith communities, as well as extensive exploration of Interfaith spirituality, world religions, traditional Shamanic practice, mysticism, metaphysics, sacred drumming, chanting, meditation, movement and the expressive arts.
She previously served as Founder and Senior Minister of the Alameda Spiritual Living Center in Alameda, California, where she helped cultivate a diverse, intergenerational spiritual community grounded in New Thought and Interfaith principles, music, community and spiritual practice.
She also served in various capacities at the historic, The Home of Truth Spiritual Center (THOT) in Alameda, CA, founded in 1893 by New Thought pioneers Annie Rix Militz and Harriet Hale Rix, whose teachings helped shape the early development of Unity and the broader New Thought movement. Rev. O's roles at THOT included serving as a minister, consultant, workshop facilitator, and Prayer Chaplain Program Developer/Trainer.
Beyond ministry, Rev. Ouida also brings over three decades of nonprofit executive leadership in strategic planning, fund development and fundraising, and organizational and program development. As a former Executive Director, COO, CPO, and Deputy Executive Director, she assisted and helped strengthen organizations devoted to providing trauma-informed and strengths-based services to children and adults in need of shelter, food, health care, and basic needs as they rebuild their lives.
Rev. O's Vision is Simple:
Create a vibrant sacred community where people of all ages, all religions, all races,
all cultures, and all ways of being are welcomed and can come as they are, deepen their spiritual lives, and discover what is possible when we truly see and honor
one another. A place of belonging, unconditional love, radical acceptance,
celebration, and FUN!
